Walmart Tests $50 Unlimited Shipping Service

In an interview with Direct Marketing News, Clarus Marketing CEO Tom Caporaso explains that Walmart’s recently announced test of a free shipping subscription program is likely a dry run for the holiday season, which typically accounts for up to 40% of a store’s sales.  Paid subscription programs, he notes, create incentives for consumers to shop with a particular store and result in them making more and larger purchases there.
