Amazon’s decision to offer Prime Day to its subscription-paying shoppers prompted other retailers to respond in kind. Walmart lowered its free shipping minimum, eBay launched a 30-day sale, and FreeShipping.com is offering members 20% cash back at over 1,000 retailers. As Clarus Commerce CEO Tom Caporaso tells DMN, “Retailers can’t afford to sit idly by while Amazon tries to bring more online shoppers into the fold.”
