The Jet.com Shopping Model Challenges Conventional Wisdom

In an article for Marketing Daily, Clarus Marketing CEO Tom Caporaso notes three ways that Jet.com’s shopping model tries to alter current online shoppers’ behavior. Instead of consistent discounts, Jet offers variable savings; Jet members won’t see coupons or special offers; and although consumers have proven they want easy online returns, Jet will offer members a small discount in exchange for promising not to send items back.
