In an interview with Ecommerce Bytes, Clarus Commerce CEO Tom Caporaso examines Walmart’s decision to launch ShippingPass, an online subscription program that offers shoppers free, 3-day shipping on about 1 million items. Caporaso says the program is designed both to help Walmart retain its current customers before Jet.com debuts and to compete more effectively with Amazon Prime for budget-conscious consumers.
