Holiday shipping deadlines a gamble for retailers

In light of the holiday shipping delays in 2013 and shoppers’ carryover concerns, USA Today looked into online retailers’ guaranteed delivery dates for holiday purchases in 2014. Retailers were feeling more confident about delivering last-minute orders, said Tom Caporaso, Clarus Marketing CEO, since FedEx and UPS boosted their holiday capacities, so they stretched those deadlines to close as many sales as they could.
